If there's one song that reflects my year.. it's this song...

Sometimes I just love how God moves when I plan the worship set list.

When I reflect back the list, it's always about Him.

Moreover when you see how the people respond to it, you know it's God's work, not yours.

So worship leaders, always pray and seek God while choosing your songs. Don't choose them as though you are choosing songs for karoke.

Here is Rev Chor Kee and Mdm Lily's picture with the quarter look of the English worship team. 

Anyway, i just want to personally thank rev Chor Kee and Mdm Lily for being a blessing to me. I learn a lot from this couple. I honestly spend a lot of time sitting down with them to talk about ministry, God's kingdom and life. I am grateful too that they show so much support to my album project.. I remembered they came to one of my public gigs.

And I am going to miss going to their house to watch football match, cheering like mad and rubbing it at his face when MU wins the match  hehehehhe

For Mdm Lily, really thank God I learn a lot from her especially about worship and singing. She gave me some vocal lessons a few times. Even today before I left, she gave me a lot of encouragement as a worship leader and songwriter. Really touched by it.

Praying God will bless them as they are moving to Thailand.

More Optimus..

This morning, i was so surprised when my cell group member gave me this. Taken aback for awhile but very grateful. Now that adds up to my Optimus Prime collection.. I have 4 versions of Optimus now!

Suddenly i was reminded of what i shared yesterday to the worship team that God can bless us unexpectedly. There are times we limit Him by bringing in our doubts and understanding but God just bless according to His will and timing. 

Well, it pretty sums up my life this year.. It's been full of "unexpected" events..

Good reminded about what Christmas is all about. We received an unexpected gift that is Jesus Christ and who know when He is coming back again :)

Blessed Christmas week ahead!

Was busy clearing my stuff and I realized I still keep one stack of birthday cards and affirmation notes that i have accumulated over the years. Mostly all come from my days in youth fellowship at SPC, SMI cf and prefects time.

I realized how much i treasured them. Now as i looked back, i realized how encouragement from years ago have keep me fighting and going on for my dreams and life. In times when i feel like giving up, these cards reminded me never lose sight of what God has planted in me.

Too many names to mention but thank you for writing them to me. Whether it's super simple note or a long essay. Thank you for making the effort to hand make them, draw your own original cartoon or even spending few ringgit on papers. In the area of social media like fb, it's so hard to get such things. Sorry now i have to throw some of them (hehehe) now but your words will continue to encourage me as i strive on in life.

As much as these days we have modern techs to remind us of important tasks, nothing beats the old fashion way of marking the calendar.. Via diary and planner. 

Personally, every year i would want to have one so i can have an easy overview look of my activities over the weeks, months and year. 

thank God that He bless me with this via Bishop Moon Hing. I bumped into him recently.. Halfway through our chat, he gave me this planner.

Gonna be useful for me as i look forward to 2014.

One more month to the biggest Malaysian gospel night.

edge of October

As we reach the end of October, I really thank God for an amazing journey so far.

If I have to confess, last year exactly around October, I was ready to give up everything.. Work, music, relationship, every responsibility I have. I beginning to feel dry and I want Him to come to save me from crashing. I cried out to God and ask Him to do something with my life.. I told Him I give it another year and if nothing improves, I will quit everything.

Making promises with God can be a serious thing. Think properly when you want to do so!

Because for past one year proved that He did bring a difference in my life. Each time i feel like giving up, He didn’t.. That thought has drive me on.

Isaiah 61 is on my mind as I reflect back my life so far. I am reminded that only He can turn ashes to beauty.

Greater things are yet to come.. Looking forward to next year and beyond..

To God be the glory :)

Was an experience playing in the heart of KL at the SUKA. Did a few songs and the other performers were awesome too. Fun all in all.

MGM concert promo

It gives me great joy to announce that i am part of the biggest concert in Malaysian gospel scene this year -- that is MGM concert.

It will be on 1st December Sunday evening 7pm at City Harvest KL.

Really praise God that i am part of this.. Biggest concert i am involve so far. All the top Malaysian gospel artist will be there.. Patrick Leong, SAND, Ps Wah Lok and many more!!

Tickets are priced at rm20 which includes a MGM compilation album. Tickets are available in canaanland, chosen treasure bookstore.

For FCC members, good news that the tickets are available at the resource centre.

I am excited and pumped for it! See you all there!! :D

But what i love about this picture is the fact that everyone love music regardless how old and how young they are. I love it when i get to see how kids respond to music, so does the oldest of age folks too.

Indeed, it's a joy and blessing to be doing music. To bless someone with that gift regardless how old they are.

10/10 @ Merdekarya

Done with my Merdekarya gig. Thanks for the support no matter in what ways.

Was quite an experience for me and grateful for the chance to perform my own songs and some covers on a public platform.

I know it wasn't easy for a lot of people to come because of the massive traffic jam around KL due to heavy rain but if you didn't come, fret not.. there's another public performance in 2 weeks at the heart of KL city..

Merdekarya gig - 10 OCTOBER

Will be performing in a place called Merdekarya. It's happening on Thursday night 830pm 10th October.

Basically it's an acoustic and more intimate performance.. so don't worry of loud rock full band music. It's more strip down and simple music..

Besides me performing as the main act, there are other acts playing before me.. come and enjoy some local music talents 

It's free admission. There's drinks and simple food there for you to order in that place. However, just some advice if you need heavy dinner, I suggest you have it before you come or eat at the mamak that is nearby the performing place because the "heaviest" meal you can find on that place is maggi goreng

Neighbourhood touch

On Saturday morning, we organized this massive project called "neighbourhood touch" which we were planning to show some love to our community by cleaning up the surrounding area.

We had few churches on board with us and some companies too. The response was amazing.

Even YB Hannah Yeo gave her backing to us. She was proud to see such massive response to such community project.

I want to give a massive shoutout to everyone in FCC for a massive turnout in the gotong-royong//neighbourhood touch program. Never been prouder to see everyone coming together and showing some love to the community. Definitely a memorable moment in FCC history. You guys are the best!

Special mention to all Saturday service cell groups, proud of you guys.. you all are awesome!!

One of the joys that I experienced in playing in various gigs is seeing people from different ages enjoying the songs and the music.

This kid is one example.. Was dancing and clapping while I was singing. 

Sometimes I wished all of us are so simple minded like them.. just let go and enjoy the music..

Anyway, it's definitely a very memorable sight =D
