Why Easter?

I am sure you have plenty of questions like “why they called it Easter? Is it a biblical name? What’s its origin? Is it true that they named it after a pagan festival? Why Easter egg?”‬

This article has a good explanation to those questions.

At the end of the day, we don’t worship the festival. We worship the Risen King and Saviour

Holy Saturday

Last night was something.

The testimonies I been hearing were amazing. God is really moving. Personally grateful for God’s leading.

May the message shared remind us of His love for us.

Station of the Cross

The station of the Cross.

What is amazing about this painting is that we at STPC painted it together during our spiritual retreat, using our thumbprints. It was wonderful that recently they brought it out again on the Holy Week to help in our reflection about Jesus’ journey to the Cross.


I love how my lecturer Dr James Harding pointed out that the painting seems to have a huge dot there. Although it represent the tomb, we can look at it as though it's a huge "fullstop". Many thought life ends just like that, like a huge "fullstop". But Jesus is works beyond that "fullstop" - He conquered death. That's where we celebrate that resurrection on Sunday.




May this Holy weekend brings us deeper in our walk with Him.

What a powerful scene.

My heart is just blessed and touched by this clip, seeing how people just diving deep into God’s presence through this song. Another wonderful testimony of His goodness and all glory to Him.

Also, my church members keep sharing with me how the song speaks to them. Testimony like this can only encourage me to use this gift for God even further.

I wanna congratulate my friends at OneAccordMinistry for the release of the new worship album — “forgiven seas”

I am listening to it right now and totally blessed by the songs. 

I also had the honour to be involved in a small way, by writing “for you are with us” with my buddy Neil for this album. My heart just overwhelmed when I heard the live recording version. Thank you bro for allowing me to be part of what God is doing in this nation and beyond.

I guess this is what church is all about, what is worship is all about -- declaring how great is our God together!

And also, a taste of how amazing doing co-writing.

This song was written with my best bud Neil (of RELENT). There's a lot of amazing stories tied to this composition and to see this happen is a blessing to me.

I believe the song very much reflects our heart that whatever happens, we can trust in God who is with us through every season.

It's a blessing to see how both churches able to bring out the message of the song, so kudos to ya all!

So honored to know how this song is being impactful. I can't wait to hear and watch their live recording mix of the song as ENCM did a full recording of it recently (thus the footage here).
Meanwhile, may God continue to use this gift I have for His kingdom.

Father's Day

For Father's Day this year, I presented the cover "good good Father" live. I did this song live last night, a song that reflects the father's heart. A well known song by Houseflies II and made famous by Chris Tomlin and other Christian bands.

This song always hits me as it reflects what a father we have in heaven. Loving and faithful. A great inspiration to all earthly fathers.

Blessed Father's day to my dad, dad-in-law, all my friends who are dads and every dads out there.

Good Friday

Yesterday, a worship team member asked me "why bad things always happen when we are around?"

I don't know why I promptly answered, "because we are the best, that's why we can handle bad and screw-up things."

Maybe that day itself, I went through a lot. A lot of things that could go wrong, went wrong! I nearly wanted to break down a few times. In fact, it's the story of my life at times.

Each time I have such questions of WHY, I am always meet with answers from God, who I believe also send some people to remind me too, with the message that sounds like - "because you are the best person for the role/job/in this season".

Hate to admit it but sometimes it's true in many ways. Yup, insert meme quote here : "win liao lor".

There's a reason why we are in the heat of the action when things can go south. Because God is preparing us for something good and have prepared us for such situation. He knows what's best and He know who can deal with it. The best part is, although often we forget, that if God put us there, He will bring us through it.

How David (in the Bible) able to face Goliath? Because he has faced many threats to his herd of sheep such as the bears and lions. 

That proves the sovereignty of God, which I learn again and again, to live it. It's not that I want trouble to happen, but that's God's way to mold us to be better for Him.

Today's Good Friday and we often associate the story of the Cross to this day. I am sure in those days, in the midst of noises asking for Jesus' death, there are questions from some parties that sounds like, "why such things happen to innocent people?" or "can't God do something about it?"

We lived in fallen world, and it takes the best to redeem us from eternal condemnation. That's why Jesus - son of God, son of man, the purest of Lamb - is the best offered to us so we can be restored in our relationship with God. Such selfless act for a world, people like you and I.

While the cross is symbol of death and suffering, what Jesus done on the Cross reminds us that it takes the good Lord to come to Earth to make people good again.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
‭‭- Romans‬ ‭5:8‬

In the world we seems to always be lost of hope, let's look to the Cross. See the image of love, the amazing grace poured out for us.

My prayers to you all reading this is that whatever you are going through, God is with you. Remember His faithfulness and grace.

2000 years ago

2000 years ago, many seek for Jesus.

Some seeking to worship Him, some seeking to get rid of Him.

2000 years later, situation has not changed. Which one are you? 

just a #heartcore testimony

I thought I want to share this testimony. A testimony to show of God's grace and glory.

I guess a lot of people's impression that I came out with this awesome pun concert name called Heartcore. hahaha. Sorry it wasn't me but well, read about the story here about it means actually..

In a nutshell, Heartcore is all about our hearts being centered on God, coming back to heart in serving and worship. So it's appropriate that this concert, the heart of it is God Himself.

To organize Heartcore in FCC is not easy. The details to look into was taxing. It's tiring, can't stress that more, when some people give unnecessary stress on details. I know a lot of people often say "this guy always love to do concert", truth is.. doing concert is not easy and I don't do it for the sake of doing it. To add to that, a lot of people have different views what a concert should be.. moreover, an "evangelistic concert".  But looking up to God is the remedy. Often, I trust God will move in ways that we cannot imagine.


One of the faint ideas I have prior to coming to KL is to explore doing a concert this year at FCC. I actually prayed about it. I've been going around with ideas like doing one on our own or get performers in (something like what I have done with RELENT over the years).

I actually heard and read about Heartcore tour, in fact Neil (of RELENT) shared with me about it. I love their idea and it's actually my dream (or vision) to be part of something big for God. I did roughly kept in touch with Jeff Kumar on Facebook and we've met up occasionally but it was my meeting with Darren Teh (An Honest Mistake singer who also plays bass in AOT) that changes everything.

We talked more about the Heartcore initiative and it is exactly what I love to be part of. Then immediately I sold that idea to my senior pastor who so happened to be at where we were discussing. Since then, ground work has been laid.

What I am trying to say is as I reflect back on what happened, I learn that when you commit your plans to God, when you seek Him then you go and work on it, God will open doors.

Another dream come true for me is to work together with AOT. I heard of them since I was young and they are the band that inspired me to go all out for God in music. I always hope to meet them someday, perhaps to collaborate on something.

It was this song that changed my view on music especially local Christian music. I have heard Christian hard rock albums before, especially from America (think Kutless, Relient K, Thousand foot krutch) but for something local like this, I feel that's something to take note of. And yes, I keep looping this song every now and then. Even today. CLASSIC =)



Many years on, here I am today with my own songs and albums with a purpose all out for God. All thanks to God's leading that we have the opportunity to meet and now, we are working together on this mission to use local Christian music to impact the nation here and beyond. We have been keeping in touch a lot lately because we are totally sold out on this mission and it's exciting to see how God is leading us towards that mission. Loving the fact I am part of something that is bigger than myself.

In summary, only God can make this radical dream come true and possible. Only GOD.


This whole experience can only inspire me to trust in God for open doors and a reminder that the best is yet to come.

I hope this inspires you as well to live and pursue God for your dreams, ambitions and hopes. It can be music, it can be arts, it can be a working field, it can be in an area or a mission field that God has planted in you.

I always love what C.S. Lewis said  — 'You are never too old to set another goal, or to dream a new dream.'

Anyway, thanks all for being part of this awesome concert. The testimonies I hear so far have been encouraging. At the same time, I appreciate all the feedback that I have hear.

Thanks to all the acts -- Army of Three, Relent, Joanne&Julia, South&the Lowlands and Kent Sim. Thanks cell leaders and ushers in doing the ground work. Thank you everyone who came, I believed you are blessed by what God is doing through everyone's gift -- be it music or the ushering.
