Aronofsky's Noah poem

Found this interesting article at Varitey.com and I saw the poem written by "Noah" director Darren Aronofsky. Meanwhile, click that link about the article on him and this story of this poem.

Anyway, here's the poem written by him that kind of caught my attention.

The Dove
A Poem by Darren Aronofsky
January 13, 1982

Evil was in the world
The laughing crowd
Left the foolish man at his ark
Filled with animals
When the rain began to fall
It was hopeless
The man could not take the evil crowd with him
But he was allowed to bring his good family.

The rain continued through the night
And the cries of screaming men filled the air
The ark was afloat
Until the dove returned with the leaf
Evil still existed.

When the rainbows reached throughout the sky
The humble man and his family knew what it meant
The animals ran and flew freely with their newborn

I was leading prayer meeting recently and I led this song.

water and the boat

Today, Dean Chak shared a thought that is quite interesting.

Water that is outside the boat makes it float while water that is inside the boat makes it sink.

So.. we need to know what is our "water" that could make a difference to our "boat" which is our life. It could bring us down or keep us afloat.

worship songs riches

I spend the night listening to worship songs from 70s till latest -2014. As much as I can.

It feels like a trip through memory lane. I remember singing some of those classic Marantha, Don Moen songs when I was growing up in St Peter’s. I remember hearing my dad blasting those songs through his radio at home and I used to inherit some of his cassettes. Not long after, it was Hillsong and Planetshakers diet during youth days. During this times, people like Tomlin, Tim Hughes, Matt Redman stepping up.

I realized there’s so many riches in these worship songs. Sometimes I amazed how God work through these songwriters. These worship songs always inspires each generation but all shares one similiarity – that is to worship our God the creator.

Even a choice, I would love to sing each songs from 70s till now.. but boy, that is gonna take a lifetime. As a worship leader, I am actually spoilt for choices but the challenge is to see how these songs speak in each seasons of church. Heavy responsibility actually so that's why it's important worship leaders capture the heart of God and the vision of the church.

Another thought that streams from my head is how God has bless us with musical and song writing talents. It's just beyond my comprehension and indeed it's a gift from Him. 

All these thoughts inspires me, hoping someday that I can write songs that people will use it to worship Him alone.

Reason I share this because the content of the songs is meaningful and I hope the meaning, lyrics and melody speaks to you as you ponder about the sacrifice and love of Christ.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins - 1 John 4:10
