boxing day post

this Christmas have been one of the most tiring in recent memory. I am going to admit that with the remaining days left for 2015, I am very much overwhelmed with so many things in my mind. Sometimes I wish I have more time and energy or even wished I could have done things better.

A lot of things haven't really sink in yet for me and praying for the strength to endure the remaining 2015. But let me end by saying, despite the tiredness, I am blessed to have friends like you all, both near and far. Merry Christmas again and to borrow Bishop Moon Hing's greetings : "May the force of the Almighty God help you push out the darkside of your life and ministry".

Christmas mood

What is "Christmas mood"?

Recently, this has been my reflection. Moreover, I was in one of KK's shopping mall with my buddy Ps Darren, called Imago. What really surprised us is that Imago has no Christmas decoration even at this point of the month. It's quite unusual for a Malaysian shopping mall to do so; some even as early as October where these malls have their decorations up.

But is it just decorations, Christmas trees, food, gifts or even snow should give us the Christmas mood?

Christmas shouldn't be just limited to what we see therefore we feel. What if I tell you Christmas is about waiting and anticipating for hope while the world around us is a mess?

Prior to first ever Christmas, the world was in mess and it seems we are condemned to eternal death because of sin. Till God send His son Jesus to us.

The world today is still messed up as ever. So much uncertainty about life, nation and world in general. Sometimes we wonder if ever there's hope. Sometimes we are caught up with our own emotions and negativity.

However, I believe there's hope. It's not naive nor faintly statement. It's declaration of faith.

That's what this season is all about. The season of Advent. The season of Christmas. The season of hope.

Emmanuel. For God is with us.

That, well, should be our Christmas mood.

Psalm 103:15-19

Life can be tough, and it can seem like we are facing an uphill climb all day every day. It can feel like we are going through the motions, and we are just trying to make it to the next weekend, day off, or vacation. We are going through life, and we are just surviving it. I don’t think we were meant to live this way. God wants to live in us and work through us every day, he wants to give us life. There is an abundance of life in Christ, one that brings “joy, peace, patience and kindness.” We weren’t made to survive - we were made to Thrive. Like Joseph - he thrived even in the tough times and even in the mess.

In Genesis 7 we learn about Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob. In jealousy, his brothers sell him in to slavery. He ends up in Egypt as a slave to Potiphar. Even in his situation, he trusts God and God blesses him. He moves up in the ranks in Potiphar's house.

Genesis 39:3 “When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant.”

Did you get that? Potiphar put him in charge of his household. And God blessed Potiphar's entire household because of Joseph. Potiphar's wife, seeing the success of Joseph, makes a play for him. After he rejects her, she accuses him before Potiphar and Joseph is sent to jail.

Genesis 39:21 “But while Joseph was there, the Lord was with him.”

But God was still with Joseph even in prison. The prison guard put Joseph in charge of all of the prisoners. Everywhere Joseph ended up, God blessed him and he ended up in charge.
While in prison, Joseph interpreted dreams for some of Pharoah’s employees. Years later, when Pharaoh was having dreams he couldn't understand, Joseph was called to interpret them.
Once again, seeing that Joseph was a man of God, Pharaoh puts him in control of all of Egypt. Egypt goes through a famine, they prosper because of Joseph. Not only that, but he is even reunited with his family when his brothers are forced to come to Egypt to buy grain.

Joseph was confident in the God that made promises to him, and when tough times came, he rested in God. He at times may have been surviving, but it is clear that he thrived. Joseph could have treated his brothers with revenge, hatred, and anger. He could have been bitter, resentful, and poured out wrath on them; instead, he forgave them because he trusted that he was where he was because God had a plan. Had they not sold him into slavery, he would not have ended up in charge and his family would not have been blessed during the famine. God orchestrated everything.

Joseph thrived because he was rooted in Christ, and he trusted God's plan for his life. Even in the tough times, even when it would have been easier to give up or throw in the towel, Joseph lived a life that sought God, and pointed others to God. He was rooted in what God promised him, and he never quit helping others. 

I don’t know where you are as you are reading this. But I do know that God is calling you to himself. God is constantly calling you to know him and to make him known. Start digging into God’s word an let him show himself to you. Don’t just survive life - Thrive in it.

Malaysia Day post

There are days where I get very disappointed and angry after reading all the injustice and biased news on social media about what is going on with this country. The anger often leads me to feeling sad that this is happening here but it also slowly leads me to pray that God will take control so that His justice will come upon this land.

I think this land do need prayers. We can mock the stupidity of some people out there but where does it leads us? Sometimes the best thing to do is to just let it slide away and continue to do good in this country. The country needs more good deeds in practical, not just good keyboard warriors.

Malaysia Day this year reminds us very much that we need to appreciate how God has bless this nation. Sure, we have lots of flaws and shortcomings but it's important that we keep fighting the good fight and creating miracles through unity together.

May God continue to shower His blessings upon this land. Happy Malaysia day!

after 6th anniversary and beyond

 

This mic was the mic that i used during the recording of my first song for my first album.
From one song to more songs to then to one album then another album.. The journey goes on and on...

Anniversary of my album release always allows me to reflect back on the journey so far and be thankful. It is not so much about bragging rights, because there is nothing to brag about but it's all about God's Grace through out this journey.

I am thankful for all the support from you all again & again. even sometimes i am embarrassed by questions like when is the next album coming out. I want to assure you that it is in my mind and some groundwork is taking place. I cannot confirm when it is out but i promise to inform once everything is in place.

Sidney Mohede at KK

The world-renown worship leader Sidney Mohede was in KK over the weekend and I had the chance to attend his workshop and his night concert as well.

His workshop was simple although it does feel that people want more from it. The big takeaway is that I get to have a selfie with the man himself.

Night concert was brilliant. Personally, I was blessed very much. Very much refreshed by presence of God. 

One big takeaway for me is that no matter what happen, God is in control. It is so true with so many things we are hearing about this country but seriously, our faith should not be shaken for God is our cornerstone.

Thank You God for a wonderful Saturday. Thank you Sidney and JPCC for coming to KK. You can say it's really God's timing that you are around.

effective fervent prayer school week

I was helping out in this event by worship leading in all their sessions.

Even though it was tiring but it was worth it.

Learn a lot from this "fryyyaaayaaa" man of God and worship sessions here have been phenomenal.

All the worship session through out the prayer school have been really phenomenal. The people were just passionate and pouring out during worship. God was so real. Such powerful yet humbling experience to be here to see the move of God in Sabah. Sometimes i wish every week(or even everyday) the church worship is this hot! 

Greater things are yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this nation. Don't give up praying, people!

Would say the past few days have been an enriching experience to be attending this school.

All in all, glory to God for everything so far!

one of the most powerful worship song I listened in recent times. each time I listened to this song, it always breaks my heart. Sometimes I just have to stop everything I am doing that time and just worship along with it. A very strong message of faith and freedom in Christ.

worshipcentral course

Finally I get to run worshipcentral course with the English Worship team here at All Saints..

I am not running it 7 weeks straight due to some limitations and circumstances but I made some adjustments to the running.
